Peter Miles Tapped as Superintendent of JTM’s New Fire Alarm Division
EAST DUNDEE, Ill. – February 4, 2020 – JTM Electrical & Technology, a veteran electrical services organization serving commercial and industrial customers in Illinois, Indiana and Wisconsin, announced today the launch of its Fire Alarm Division, to deliver alarm systems, installation, wiring, programming and electrical conduit – all turnkey from a single source.
To lead the new division, JTM has tapped Peter Miles, a 30-year veteran of the fire alarm industry, as the Superintendent.
“JTM has provided the electrical conduit for alarm systems for a dozen years. Now, with the addition of fire alarm systems, installation and service, we’re a one-stop shop for general contractors, property owners and facility managers,” said JTM President Jack McGuinn “We make it easier, faster and more cost-effective for them to get their fire alarm system up and running.”
Rather than contracting with two entities – the electrician and the fire alarm company – commercial and industry customers can source everything they need from JTM, which offers one contract and one point of contact for installation, service and repairs.

Miles comes to JTM after two decades running a successful fire alarm contracting company. He began his career in fire and security alarm installations in 1988 and joined the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) in 1993. He received an “A” card for a journeyman wireman after a five-year apprenticeship with the IBEW Local 701. Miles spent a few years at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville for a National Joint Apprenticeship Training Committee (NJATC). He also is a certified NJATC IBEW training instructor. Aside from his expertise in fire alarms, Miles has experience in electrical bids, designs and installation. He is also proficient in AutoCAD for local village submittals.
